TRAININGS FAQ
Q:
I am an absolute beginner, can I still join?
I am an absolute beginner, can I still join?
A:
Of course! Actually we have quite some new members at KONG that start Freerunning whilst studying. During training we take care that everyone can train at a level that suits the person. This means more explanations and practice time for beginners with an easier set-up and more advanced set-up possibilities and more challenging tricks for our more advanced members.

Q:
Is Freerunning a dangerous sport?
Is Freerunning a dangerous sport?
A:
Like any other sport, Freerunning can be dangerous. However, at Freerunning we are very aware of the dangers of our sport. That is why we make sure that all our members learn how to train safely. We teach them how to fall safely in unforeseen situations and how to take unforeseen hits properly without getting hurt or injured. We also make sure that moves and tricks can be built up in safe steps, as prevention is always better than cure. Because we focus so much on safe training in this sport, we actually have relatively few injuries in the club.

What is the difference between inside and outside training?
A:
Inside training is used to learn more difficult tricks and moves in a safe manner, before trying them outside. At outside training, we can try to (still safely) use our moves to overcome obstacles in the built environment.

What will I learn at Freerunning training?
A:
We usually train one specific skill during a training session. And during training you will often have some free time to work on your own goals or practice more. You will learn parts and moves to put together a run. These moves can range from basic jumps to flips, ground tricks or horizontal bar swings. All of this is covered in our training sessions.
